GROW YOUR COMMUNITY & ADVANCE YOUR CAREER

Member Benefits

Free Continuing Education Units (CEU) – Districts hold regular educational events on a variety of clinical topics, given by experts in their area. Members may attend meetings in any CSCSW district for free. (Note: Registered Associate Clinical Social Workers -- as long as your supervisor approves participation, you can now use CEs toward LCSW hours.)

Networking – CSCSW provides a professional community to connect with peers. Meetings provide a forum to introduce yourself and your work, and to learn about other resources. It can be a way to find work, get referrals, form consultation or study groups, and find professional support.

Workshops – offered at a reduced rate to members. Topics include those required by the BBS, such as Law and Ethics and others.

Supervisor List – CSCSW members who offer supervision for licensing hours in agencies or private practice.

Online Forum – an online discussion forum to connect with members statewide for information and resources.

Therapist Finder - Online therapist directory visible to the public for marketing practice information such as population treated, specialty areas, and accepted insurance. This online tool can be updated as needed, allowing for therapists to keep information current.

Ethical Consultations - over-the-phone consultation from a trained ethics consultant free of charge.

Clinical Social Workers confront ethical dilemmas, whether in agency or private practice, regarding issues such as:

  • Confidentiality
  • Reporting requirements
  • Termination
CSCSW members can receive an over-the-phone ethics consultation from a trained ethics consultant free of charge.

Marketplace – The CSCSW Job Board  gives you the ability to advertise for free - members should reach out to the CSCSW Administrator to access the code to post a job for free.

Mentorship Program – provides an opportunity for those entering the field or changing direction to be matched with an experienced practitioner who can provide guidance regarding education, career and professional development and networking. Every effort is made to match mentors and mentees with similar interests. (Mentorship is clearly distinguished from supervision.)

Clinical Update – the CSCSW publication in which members can contribute articles and advertise. Articles may be on clinical topics or updates from the BBS such as changes in the licensing process or supervision requirements.

BBS Liaison – Members have the benefit of being in contact directly with the BBS liaison.

Clinical Social Work Journal

– To order the journal, members may call 1-800-SPRINGER (777-4643) or e-mail: customerservice@springernature.com  to order a subscription.  You will receive a discount if you mention that you are a CSCSW member.  With the discount, the rate is $75/year for four issues or $42/year for an electronic subscription.  If you want both the hard copy and the electronic version, it is $100/year.

Please consider joining the California Society for Clinical Social Work so that we can increase our strength and advocate for our profession as clinical social workers.
