GROW YOUR COMMUNITY & ADVANCE YOUR CAREER

San Diego District

Tuesday, February 13, 2018 10:21 AM | CSCSW Administrator (Administrator)

The San Diego District is very active, holding CEU programs every month, as well as offering opportunities for networking and professional development. Our programs usually attract approximately 20-25 LCSWs, ASWs, and MSW students from San Diego State University,  California State University San Marcus, and University of Southern California. This past year our programs have included compelling, diverse topics, such as Substance Abuse, The Rights of Minors in Inpatient Psychiatric Settings, Nutrition's Role in Mental Illness, Suiicide Assessment & Risk Formulation, Co-parenting High Conflict Couples and more, including 3 Law & Ethics programs.  We also offered a 3-hour, 5 panel “Mental Health Professional Symposium on Sharing Resources for Vulnerable Clients  and Families” and we are currently participating in the Padres Social Work Annual event at Petco Park.

Last December we organized our annual “Meet and Greet” event with attendees benefitting from networking, learning about job announcements, and hearing a report by our representative to the CSCSW board, Karen Moorhead-Jenkins, on the various new programs and activities offered by CSCSW.  This April we are honored to have a presentation by Kim Madsen, BBS Executive Director, on “Everything You Need to Know on Becoming an LCSW”.

Please stay tuned for information about our upcoming programs, of which we have several scheduled in the coming months. We will advertise them on the CSCSW website, as well as via email to our District’s members. Please contact Ros Goldstein, LCSW, to join this vibrant District.
