This course seamlessly merges ancient mindfulness techniques with trauma-focused principles from EMDR therapy and other trauma theory and practice. It's tailored for the wide diversity of practitioners seeking to address patient anger. We delve into the integration of mindfulness practices for both personal and patient-focused anger management. Explore the intricate link between unresolved trauma and anger while uncovering strategies to cultivate self-awareness and emotional regulation, both personally and in patients.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the basics of anger management from a mindfulness perspective and from the clinical literature.
  • Be able to apply at least four mindfulness-based interventions using trauma therapy principles and mindfulness on issues of anger management.
  • Learn to design a trauma-focused case conceptualization for treating anger as part of addiction, PTSD, or complex PTSD.
  • Hear the analysis of two case examples of mindfulness based anger management tools within Janet's Three Stage Model of Trauma
  • Treatment and the Adaptive Information Processing Model of EMDR therapy.
