Description:

This presentation will cover the basics of Internal Family Systems therapy, including the parts of the personality we all carry inside, managers (planners), firefighters (self-soothers), exiles (vulnerable feelings and experiences), and Self (one’s essence). It will cover how IFS therapists view diagnosis, symptoms, ‘resistance’, addiction, and dissociation, and how IFS promotes growth and permanent change. Lastly, it will introduce ‘therapist parts’ and the importance IFS places on the clinician’s tracking of their own internal system of parts during session.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify the 3 kinds of parts in one’s internal family system.
  2. Describe the role that the client’s Self (capital S) plays in their healing.
  3. Describe the role of the therapist in IFS therapy.

Workshop Logistics: After registering you will receive a link to the ZOOM WEBINAR.
