Presenter: Sarah Jayyousi, LCSW, LPCC,
Participants will gain an understanding of anxiety disorders, learn what fuels anxiety, and use neurologically- informed CBT techniques to help clients. Participants will be able to better help their client identify maladaptive coping mechanisms, increase client motivation, and apply individualized interventions such as exposure and response prevention.
Learning Objectives:
Ms. Jayyousi, LCSW, LPCC, received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and her Master's in Social Work from San Diego State University. She has over 25 years of experience in diverse settings, including inpatient behavioral health, intensive outpatient, non-profit organizations and private practice setting. Ms. Jayyousi has direct practice and administration experience. She is a full-time lecturer at Cal State University San Marcos, and continues to manage an outpatient behavioral health program focused on treatment of anxiety, depression and psychosis. She is passionate about social justice issues and advocates for the utilization of the recovery model in helping individuals from diverse backgrounds. She was a bilingual (Arabic) social worker for 9 years serving immigrants from the Middle East. She is currently serving on the board of CSCSW and is co-chairing the Diversity, Equity and Transformation Committee.

This is a District Meeting coordinated by the Greater LA District.
This DISTRICT MEETING meets the qualifications for 2.0 hours of continuing education credit for MFTs, LPCCs, LEPs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
Note: With supervisor approval, registered ASWs may use CEs toward LCSW hours.
