Even if you don't do direct practice with children & families, chances are custody disputes are a part of what you may hear about in your office. This can be a high conflict, emotionally trying time for people, including the therapist.
Therapists can get in trouble when wanting to advocate for a parent or child & this presentation will present the basics of the custody evaluation process & the advantages & disadvantages for families going through it. You will also learn about the training necessary to become a custody evaluator as well as the credentials needed & procedures to follow.
