"Campus Safety: Sexual Assualt Prevention and Response"

Overview:
This presentation will focus on prevention of sexual violence on college campuses as a human rights violation. She will explore the impact that sexual assault has on victims/survivors. All services are free of charge. The Rape Treatment Center (RTC) provides these services to all identities: males, LGBTQ, as well as children and adults. There will be a discussion of the ways in which the campus can work with the community to foster change. There will also be time for a dialogue and questions.
Objectives:
2) To identify resources and reporting options following a sexual assault.
3) To identify at least three ways to prevent sexual violence (developing pro-social norms, healthy sexuality and bystander intervention.
About the Presenter:
La Shonda Coleman, LCSW is the Director of College Programs at the Rape Treatment Center (RTC) at Santa Monica - UCLA Medical Center. She manages the RTC's college programs/services which include advocacy, training, outreach and prevention educational programming to local area campuses. As a licensed clinician, Mrs. Coleman also provides direct services to survivors of sexual assault/abuse at RTC. She is also a doctoral candidate at the Sanville Institute and a member of the Sanville Community Alliance Program. To visit LaShonda's personal website CLICK HERE.
This course meets the qualifications for 1.5hrs of CE credit for LCSWs, LMFTs, and LPCCs as required by the CA BBS. PCE #1

The Sherman Oaks Galleria Community Room (at Sepulveda and Ventura). The Community Room is located on the 1st level near the Cheesecake Factory and next to the Paul Mitchell Salon. VALIDATION FOR FREE PARKING ALL DAY will be provided.
All are welcome and may attend at no charge (no CEC certificate). MSW students are encouraged to attend. Light refreshments are provided. Bring your flyers, brochures and business cards for networking and socializing. All are welcome at CSCSW District meetings free of charge and regardless of geography. All clinical disciplines are welcome. Members earn 1.5 CE credits at no cost. Credits for non-members are $10.00 per unit.
