Presenter: Stacy Korfist, LMFT

DescriptionIntegrating Rhythm into Our Treatment Plans is an education-experiential presentation. Stacy Korfist, LMFT has combined her specialties in sensorimotor, neurobiology, rhythm, trauma and addiction to create Rhythm of Recovery Programs. She will demonstrate two drumming and rhythm exercises that can be brought into your treatment center or office.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will learn to:

  1. Facilitate two rhythm-based exercises in their practice.
  2. Identify how rhythm impacts the brain and nervous system.
  3. Explain how the use of music and metaphor is a complementary tool for treatment ambivalence and stuck points.
About the Presenter:
Stacy Korfist, LMFT, has worked in the behavioral health field for the past 25 years and is passionate about integrating wellness, experiential and evidence-based elements within treatment. Her specialties include trauma and betrayal, eating disorders, intimacy/attachment disruption, sex/love addiction and rhythm-based recovery. In addition, she has a special focus on ADHD, high-conflict personalities and positive psychology. In 1999, she became the Founding Program Director and designed the first eating disorder program for Center for Discovery, now a national organization.
