Description: Mindfulness has been shown to be an effective therapeutic tool for dealing with anxiety, depression, chemical dependency, and process addictions. This presentation will provide an introduction to mindfulness and how its elements - including acceptance and compassion - support therapeutic goals.  It provides a way to help clients develop positive coping skills to decrease acting out behaviors and develop a healthier relationship to their internal experience.  Participants will learn and practice specific exercises using mindfulness to cope with intense emotions, urges and cravings in this experiential workshop.
